Existenz is an experimental audiovisual project that began in 2017. A solo effort by L. Yamil Elel, it has participated in festivals and exhibitions, such as "Una Noche En Los Museos", exhibit by Arte Sonoro "Universidad de Quilmes" that took place in Museo de Artes Visuales V. Roverano in Quilmes. Other examples are works shown in Histórico Museo Comunitario de Artes Visuales of Florencio Varela, in La Cúpula Media Lab, Córdoba, and Intermediale Festival of Audiovisuale forms, exhibition "Videosynthezy", Poland.

So far, Existenz has released 3 albums, IDRA (2018), NADA (2020) & d a t a (2025), and took part in different netlabels like Capitan Mou, BorderTapes, Isla Visión, Feroz Device and Veinte33 Records. Also collaborated with artists, namely Aux, Zigo Rayopineal, Yugoslavia TV and Mi Propia Necrológica. His method is to use feedback with effects to generate experimental, pure, and unpredictable sounds. The project's title is a direct reference to David Cronenberg's film "eXistenZ" (1999), about a virtual reality game.

discos

The discography section gathers the project's recorded releases, documenting the evolution of its sonic language through different conceptual and technical approaches. Beginning with *IDRA* (2018), the debut album oriented toward ambient textures and unified emotional atmospheres, the work continued with *NADA* (2020), a concept-based exploration inspired by non-objective art and realized through experimental sound processes such as the no-input mixer technique. More recently, *d a t a* (2025) expands this trajectory through compositions generated with micro-modular synthesis and feedback systems, reflecting an ongoing interest in experimentation, electronic sound heritage, and conceptual narratives related to technology, data, and abstraction.

videos

The videos section brings together the audiovisual work developed since 2022, beginning with experimentation in video through linear and non-linear narratives, camera lens lighting effects, and the use of analog and digital special effects. Early productions focused primarily on fiction and music video formats. From 2024 onwards, the work expanded into audio-reactive and synchronous audiovisual creations, where sound and image evolve in unison as part of the same compositional process. The videoclip *“Síndrome de La Habana”* has been presented at the Intermediale Festival of Audiovisual Forms, within the exhibition *“Videosynthezy”* in Poland (2025).

reviews

The reviews section brings together critical texts and external perspectives that explore different facets of the artist’s work, including sound releases, audiovisual pieces, and conceptual approaches. Through essays, commentaries, and published critiques, this column documents how the projects are interpreted by writers and collaborators, offering contextual readings that expand the dialogue around experimentation, narrative, and the relationship between image and sound.
